This year (2005) the Croatian Writers Society is launching its Modern Poetry series aimed at the publication of poetry that, in the opinion of critics, is important not only within the framework of the literature of the given country but is in addition worthwhile and well-received in international terms. This new series, then, will be oriented to foreign as well as Croatian work in poetry that, in terms of its poetic and aesthetic level, as well as its cultural values, has set its mark upon the time, that is, upon our contemporaneity.
In the first cycle of Modern Poetry edition we are planning to publish, "Selected Poems" of contemporary Portuguese poet Casimir de Brita, translated by Tanja Tarbuk, "Selected Poems", of American poet and writer Adrienne Rich, translated by Miloš Đurđević – planned as joint edition with Ženska infoteka – "Selected Poems" of Wallace Stevens, translated by Hamdija Demirović, and "Anthology of Modern American Poetry", selected and translated by Damir Šodan and Miloš Đurđević. |
